SSEA members presenting at the “Lights and shadows of close relationships in emerging adulthood: new topics and new methods” Thematic Conference can apply for the following awards:

Poster Award
All posters are eligible for nomination for the Best Poster Award. Three awards will be given, one for a senior scholar and two for emerging scholars.

Best Innovative Research Method Award
Paper presentations employing innovative methodologies applied to the study of relationships can compete for this award.

Best International Research Award
Paper presentations of innovative cross-cultural research on emerging adulthood can compete for this award.


Conference participants can nominate themselves for these awards by sending an email to the SSEA coordinator (coordinator@ssea.org). In the email:

• Specify which award you applying for (Best Poster Award OR Best Innovative Research Method Award OR Best International Research Award)
• Members who want to apply for awards specifically for emerging scholars must also submit a certification that proves they are currently in a program of study or within 4 years of PhD graduation.
• Attach the pdf of your poster (for the Best Poster Award)
• Attach a pdf with a synthesis of your paper (for the Best Innovative Research Method Award /Best International Research Award). This should be a maximum of three double-spaced pages with up to two figures/tables.

In order to apply it is required that a person should:
• be SSEA member
• have registered for the conference


Nominations must be submitted by April 25th, 2020 for consideration. The awards will be announced during the closing ceremony on May 29th, 2020.


The recipients of the awards will receive:
- An award certificate
- An extension of the SSEA membership for 2 years
